The IWWIP Crossing Program

The IWWIP Crossing Program

The IWWIP Crossing Program is currently continuing at the greenhouse located in the Aegean Agricultural Research Institute in Izmir. The program uses a wide range of genetic diversity to create variation while accumulating desired alleles. Crossing blocks consist of winter/facultative germplasms developed by the program, germplasms shared by collaborators that evaluated several years within the breeding program, and spring wheat germplasms developed by CIMMYT planted at 5 different intervals in order to have flexibility to obtain more crossing.
